His practice also includes the representation of parties in probate and conservatorship proceedings. Mr. Hughes is married to the former Kathryn (“Kiki”) Shannahan and they have two children. He is an active member of First United Methodist Church, Montgomery, Alabama where he teaches Fifth Grade Sunday School. Outside of work, Mr. Hughes enjoys long distance running and tennis. Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation
Fritz & Hughes’s emphasis in bankruptcy is the representation of businesses and individuals in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 cases and proceedings. The firm also assists clients in litigation and other matters involving debtor/creditor relationships, including loan workouts, collections, repossessions, foreclosures, and lien disputes. Fritz & Hughes works closely with buyers and sellers in transactions arising out of bankruptcy, insolvency and liquidation proceedings, including issues relating to asset securitization. Our attorneys also assist: financial institutions regarding bankruptcy and creditors' rights issues; bankruptcy trustees and examiners; and clients with pre-bankruptcy planning issues.

In the areas of real estate and probate law, Fritz & Hughes, LLC provides a wide array of services, including Commercial Real Estate, Commercial Real Estate, Residential Real Estate, Real Property Litigation, and Probate.

Mr. Hughes’s practice includes the representation of lenders and parties in commercial and residential real estate transactions. In such capacity, Mr. Hughes regularly assists clients in the negotiation and drafting of loan documents, purchase contracts, easements, and leases. He also frequently serves as Alabama counsel in multi-state collateralized loans. Mr. Hughes has extensive experience in the area of title insurance and has served as counsel for title insurance companies in defending and resolving title insurance claims. Mr. Hughes also regularly represents clients in disputes involving real estate issues.
